Wipro will soon have the fruits of three years of its efforts in the field of supercomputers, when the fastest Indian supercomputer that they are making for the Indian Space Research Organisation is complete, reports Silicon India.
The supercomputer, which is being designed at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, will be ready in three months. In September 2007, Wipro launched a range of supercomputers and superstorage in India called Wipro Supernova, built in partnership with ZRESEARCH.
“We believe that India is geared to witness the next boom in outsourcing and emerge as the R&D centre of the world. The trend of leveraging India's skills in engineering and industrial design work along with work in animation design, simulation and modeling and bio-informatics is gaining tremendous momentum. For this, customers require access to sustainable and manageable Supercomputing and Superstorage infrastructure. Supernova is an answer to that market need,” said Ashutosh Vaidya, vice-president of Wipro Personal Computing.
