Tata Consultancy Services is the official technology partner to the Team Garmin-Cervelo pro-cycling team for the 2011 racing season, reports The Times of India.
The software vendor will work hand-in-hand with the team’s internal sport science group to determine how the team’s performance can be enhanced with the use of technology, the company said.
The 39 male and female riders of Team Garmin-Cervelo include many world champions, among them Thor Hushovd and Emma Pooley, Tyler Farrar, Ryder Hesjedal and Tour de France veteran Christian Vande Velde.
"We are always looking for partners who share our commitment to using the best innovations in technology to ethically enhance performance. Hence, we are very excited to have TCS as our official consulting and IT technology partner," Slipstream Sports CEO Jonathan Vaughters said.
In 2010, TCS was the technology partner to the Cervelo Test Team.
TCS has partnerships with Formula 1 racing team Ferrari and marathons in major cities, including Boston, Chicago, Mumbai and New York.
