"We have been focusing on providing innovative banking and finance solutions for the Indian market. Given the potential of this sector we are sure that we will raise the bar for banking and financial solutions in India," said J V Ramamurthy, chief operating officer, HCL Infosystems.
The total number of ATM installations is approximately over 40,000 units and the ATMs per million people is roughly units as compared to Korea which is 1920 units. Experts forecast that the compounded annual growth rate is expected to be at 18 per cent by 2013. With just over 40,000 ATMs in India and a population of 1.2 billion, there is a demand for ATM banking services across India.
