The Essar Group is planning to merge its IT arms – Aegis BPO and Essar Information Technology. The Essar board is yet to outline the merger details and timeline and the companies are still on their early stages of merger talks.

CEO of Essar Information Technology, L S Ganeshan said that the company aims at leveraging the assets of both companies. "It may happen. That is the plan. We have a very preliminary thinking in terms that we should be doing a third-party business.

"We also have Aegis, which is the BPO arm of the group, which is already doing third-party business in US, Philippines, Africa and all these places. So, we already have a large arm, which is going to help us in doing third-party business”, said Ganeshan.
