On the first day of placement, companies like Wipro Technologies, ATS Services, Wipro-BPO, and two NGOs, Teach for India and Gandhi Fellowship visited the university. Students from 78 colleges and departments of the university participated in the placement process which was started by the Central Placement Cell (CPC) of DU. The CPC is into the second year of placement and witnessed a record number of 3000 students turning up for this recruitment drive.
The Gandhi Fellowships and Wipro Technologies chose 22 students each, according to chairperson of CPC, Dr Seema M Parihar. ‘‘WIPRO Technologies gave presentation to about 550 students from specialized courses — BSc (honours) in Computer Science, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics and Information Technology. ATS Services looked for students who had specialized in Applied Psychology for HR Specialists and MSc statistics students for Data Analysts. More than 1,800 students from these specialized courses took part,’’ said Parihar.
CPC added the online registration for final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Postgraduate students from several departments were registered for the first time this year for the placement process. The registration process for the corporates is also done online.
