Smita Gaikwad will take over as Firstsource Solutions' global head of corporate communications from Vrinda Walavalkar, who has held the post since 2004, reports Business Wire.

Gaikwad will be responsible for internal and external corporate communications, said the report.

“Smita brings with her a significant amount of experience and accomplishments in the communications and branding field to her new role. We are pleased to have her leading this effort for Firstsource as we plan our new growth strategy,” said Matthew Vallance, the managing director and chief executive officer of Firstsource.

Gaikwad, who had started her career with Thomas Cook and joined WNS in November 2003, established the firm’s corporate communications department and later became vice president, Corporate Communications at WNS Global Services. Before joining WNS, she had been manager (corporate communications) at Principal Financial Group for three years.
