Leading BPO and relationship management firm Convergys Corp has bagged a renewal for another 30 months on its existing contract with a leading health care provider. Convergys will continue and expand the customer service it currently provides to the client’s extensive network of health care professionals.
Convergys estimates the value of the contract to be about $54 million.
The unnamed client began its engagement with Convergys in 2005 to answer calls from healthcare providers needing to verify patient benefits and eligibility or discuss claim payments.
As the scope of work expanded over time, the client awarded Convergys the contract expansion and extension rather than placing the work in its own contact centers. “This contract extension and expansion is a testament to the best practices Convergys employs within its contact centers,” said Jim Boyce, Convergys President, North America.
Convergys is a leader in the healthcare industry, serving nine of Fortune’s top 10 healthcare providers. The company provides comprehensive outsourced business and consumer support functions, as well as services for in-house contact center operations. It employs 75,000 peope in 85 customer contact centers across the globe.
