The global downturn would not have a negative impact across all BPO segments and only those working in contact centers for real estate and mortgage and retail business have any cause for concern.
A report carried by the Philippines Information Agency quoted a BPO services expert Rose Kwan as saying that segments like technology services and energy would not be affected by the financial crisis, which would actually make companies seek more of outsourcing to keep their costs down.
He expressed the view that Philippines should be taking advantage of the global downturn as it remains amongst the most recommended destination for business process outsourcing.
The Centre for International Trade Expositions and Missions would be holding the e-Services Global Sourcing Conference next February at Pasay City in Philippines to bring together BPO professionals from the A-PAC region on a stage and present their strengths to the global community.
The last edition of this conference had attracted major players like Accenture, Wachovia, Tholons, TPI, Camelot, Wipro, Eximsoft, Google and General Atlantic among others.
