Guess why Bobby Deol doesn’t like the BPO industry?

Popular Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has expressed a strong dislike for the BPO industry and actually believes that the contact centers mushrooming around the country has a bad influence on the health and spending habits of today’s youth.

In the national capital to promote his latest film Chamku, the youngest of the film industry’s Deol clan said he was aghast to see just-out-of-college kids leading a hectic life by working at night and rashly spending what they earn during the day.

“Money spoils everyone. Having and spending pocket money during and college days is okay but earning and splurging money at a young age is something else. Having substantial amount of money at their disposal does not make them smart, it spoils them,” Deol was quoted as saying by the Times of India in an article.

He said the youngsters are working unearthly hours and go to sleep when others work. Bobby, who is known for airing his views freely and frankly, said more importantly these youngsters do not have long-term goals and largely live for the weekends. “It is all about working hard and partying harder,” he said in the article.

Deol said at the risk of sounding orthodox he would point out that the youth of the day was not preparing for the future and blindly aping the west. “I don’t have a problem with that. Be western in your thinking and outlook but don’t aspire to be a westerner. Don’t leave their life,” he says.
