The economic slowdown and moral police be damned. BPO’s in Gurgaon are all set to celebrate Valentine’s Day with panache. The mood is definitely upbeat and BPO employees have geared up for the biggest festival of love says a report in the Times of India.
“Though celebrations will be slightly muted, the environment will be the same. Like every year, we are organizing parties for our employees,” the paper quoted Raman Roy, chairman and managing director, Quattro BPO Solutions.
And companies are coming up with novel idea when it comes to celebrations. Teleperformance, for instance, has set a dress code for the day based in the relationship status of the individual. Those who are single and happy will wear green, while the single and looking will wear blue. Those who are committed and not open for dating will wear white.
Saujanya Mohan, manager-operations, Teleperformance, said that this will add fun to the monotonous work life and make it more interesting.
Some call centres are even encouraging employees to write a sonnet for the colleague they have a crush on. And there is even a reward for the best sonnet.
