Ageis employees vandalize office for non-payment of salary

BPO firm Ageis Aspire’s employees vandalized the office building in Sector-34 near Hero Honda Chowk, Gurgaon on Thursday alleging non-payment of salaries. About 1000 protesters, most of whome were trainees, gathered in front of the Aegis Aspire office at around 10 am and pelted stones and shouted slogans says a report in the Indian Express.

The protesters alleged that around 950 candidates had not been paid their salaries for the past several months now with the management delaying payment on some pretext or the other. “Most of us have no money left to pay even for our rent,” the paper quoted a trainee who joined the company in March and had not received any salary ever since.

“When we were selected, we were told that the initial one month was for general training after which we the company would train us for 15 days under process training. Though we did not get anything in writing, the management gave a verbal commitment that at the end of the process training we would be made permanent and will also be given salaries,” he added.

Aegis Aspire is a part of the Aegis Group, a subsidiary of the $40 Billion Essar Group.
