Ageis BPO plans centers in J&K

Aegis BPO Services, the business process outsourcing arm of the Essar group, is planning two centers in J&K for which it plans to hire 4,000 people. This initiative would not only provide employment to thousands of youths but would give a major boost to the distressed economy of the state.

In the past, the lack of cooperation and support by the state government has made other similar initiatives a failure said IT expert, Audil Hussain, who pointed out the dire need for such initiatives by the other companies.

“This time the government should take this seriously and provide them all support and cooperation the company needs for setting a base here,” Hussain was quoted in a report published in the Greater Kashmir.

Sanjay Kachroo, AVP ESSAR Group said that the company would send a team within the next 20 days for an assessment. “We are in constant touch with J&K state government and have already submitted our proposal to them,” he added.

Two BPO facilities have been proposed to be set up -- one in the Valley and other at Jammu – that would handle international calls from Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies.

Kachroo said that the Essar Group has a business process outsourcing services division, Aegis Services, leader in the outsourcing services space and have partnerships with number of Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies. The call centers in the state would handle the international call that would be routed here, said Kachroo.
